Detox Diet
Exposure to various toxins, in the course of a day, is almost a daily routine for us. For example- the water we drink is not the best drink to quench our thirst. And, not to forget the preservatives that come along with the food we consume daily. Where does all this go? They just add up and become toxin in our body system.
These toxins are only decreasing our health. So, they must be removed. The best way is to follow a planned detox regime. The duration can be anywhere between 5 days and 2 weeks. A detox diet is the purest food stuff available as it is either not processed at all or is cooked for the least possible duration. Thus, allowing us to have the food in the most natural form.
A superior detox diet plan is not only about cleaning and nourishing of the body. But, it also helps in rejuvenation of the body as well loosening of the weight. It should also be kept in mind that the weight loss is not the foremost motto of this diets plan, rather, detoxification is the main aim.
The basic meaning behind all this is only the elimination of harmful toxins from our system (body), else, in the long run they could have proven to be very harmful. The most profiting organ in the body from this diet plan is liver.
Necessity of Detox Diet
The necessity of such a plan is directly proportional to the amount of pollutants and the toxic materials in the atmosphere, which are increasing day-by-day. Thus, such a diet becomes the basic need. These materials enters our body through the help of environment and our daily necessities, such as, water, air, and not to forget the consumption of processed food. If we don’t want to be in trouble, we must have a diet capable of boosting the immunity of the body towards these materials, so as these materials are eliminated from our system.
Once, these materials are allowed to rest inside our body, they can have worst consequences. An extreme weak immune system is the most possible consequence. Along with this comes, the tiredness and lethargic nature of a person. Hormonal imbalance along with the inappropriate secretion of the hormones, and the impaired metabolism which leading to the undue weight loss, are also one of the most possible consequences. The external symptoms can be:- skin eruptions, bad breath, frequent digestion problems, hair fall and the muscle cramps.
What Can be Included in a Detox diet?
These detox diets have become a vogue diet and its popularity is increasing day-by-day. The diet is available in many versions. But, the basic principal of all of them is to increase the consumption of fluids and avoidance of any food item that requires overtime working by the digestive system. Drinking of water in a large quantity is a common practice in these types of diet, and is hydrotherapy.
Garlic, onions, vitamins, protein (in minute quantities), vitamins, and some vegetables like broccoli, beets and artichokes are some of the food items which can be included in a detox diet. It is not easy to follow such a plan, as it involves least consumption of food, but is really worth it.
